At an altitude of 1,210 metres, you may enjoy fresh mountain air, peace and quiet, and a magnificent view of the Pustertal Valley. From your private balcony, you may admire the marvellous vista of the surrounding peaks.

Here you may relax, breathe deeply – and be active: Hike through the beautiful landscape of South Tyrol and discover nature, or simply relax in the wellness and pool area.

Tradition & Transformation

What defines us remains – and yet so much is new. Today, we run the hotel in the second generation. Our hotel has always been a place of encounter and well-being in the heart of the South Tyrolean mountains. Over the years, we have maintained our values and genuine hospitality. At the same time, we have moved with the times – with fresh ideas, loving details, and a new name: Hotel Waldrast became Montara – living mountain air – a name that combines our mountain location with our vision of a modern, welcoming holiday destination.

What remains is the feeling of home.

We are Armin and Sarah Obexer with our children Annalena and Lukas, as well as Grandma Lena and Grandpa Josef.
Armin will prepare for you delicious South Tyrolean and Italian dishes.

Together with his wife Sarah, he also takes care of the daily organisation, the guests, and their wishes and needs.

We are supported by a wonderful team of people who everyday work with great passion to ensure that you feel perfectly at home.
